You are invited to attend and share your perspective U.S. Forest Service Staff invite you to participate in the development of a Visitor Use Management Plan to assess current conditions and future opportunities for a vision and management strategies on the island. Join the conversation to learn about this process and share your thoughts during this Tribal Engagement Meeting.

Background Information

In the last thirty or so years, public visitation at Grand Island has increased from 2,000 people per year to around 20,000 people per year. This uptick in public visitation has highlighted the complexity of management considerations on the island. In response to increased visitation, the Forest is using the Interagency Visitor Use Management (IVUMC) Framework to outline strategies and actions to better manage recreation and the surrounding environment.
