The Persistence of Stigma in Addiction & Mental Health Disorders

Presenters:  Anna Brede is a Case Manager at Live Rite and Sarah Matthews is an MCBAP Certified Peer Recovery Mentor with an MDHHS certificate as a Peer Recovery Coach at Live Rite

An interactive presentation, using the Division of Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction (SUPHR) guidelines on acceptable terms and words relating to Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health to help educate others and end the stigma against Substance Use and Mental Health.

Participants will be able to identify appropriate terms to use when talking about substance use and mental health

Participants will also be able to help contribute to ending stigma with sensitive and acceptable terminology

Participants will be able to understand how language matters when talking about mental health and substance use
